Review: Church.

Church. by Stylo Fantome
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Sensual - Seductive - Raw
- Church -
"Apparently it's not okay to plan the death and dismemberment of family members"

Broken - Adrift - Perfect
- Emma -
"If you know it is going to happen, why are you worrying about it?" Paul

Two souls - one a self-proclaimed God the other searching for an altar to worship upon
What happens when the fates decide to bring them together?

Church with his quiet ways was a delicious piece of work. Definitely the type of character that draws in his prey and easily seduces them. I kept trying to figure out what his motives where the author would unveil hints here and there throughout the story but it wasn't until towards the end that one zinger of a twist is thrown at us.
Emma, life has done nothing but batter this heroines soul. I think she was actually more twisted and mentally deficit than Church. She was looking for the one thing that drives us all, love and acceptance. She fo…

Review: Venomous Hunger

Venomous Hunger by Mary Auclair
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

πŸ›Έ They were once mankind's destruction - now they may be our last hope for salvation

I came in on this series with Venomous but I will be going back and acquiring the first book - Venomous read well as a standalone but I realize I may have enjoyed it even more with the build-up and background information from the first book

Kamal, an Eok warrior, is on a mission for his brother to find the last surviving free human village and protect them until his forces can arrive to take over then he and his crew of "privateers" can drop off their current cargo and enjoy their spoils -Easy Peasy -Right? WRONG - what he did not expect to find was a dying sacrifice that would challenge his every command and just might cost him his own life.

Aliena is dying - as a last resort she is "sacrificed" (Not sure if the one who sacrificed her did it out of love or spite?) to the aliens in the hope they will save her. Aliena'…

Review: The Devil's Plaything

The Devil's Plaything by Claire Marta
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

"Holy Chit, our Puddin' is back"
"Hormonal and armed"
I think that sums it up πŸ˜‰

If you have not read book one - STOP- go back and read it! Trust me 😈

In book one I mentioned that no one seemed trustworthy, it was quite possible that friends were the enemy and that our enemy was our friend (yeah I was there, the writing is that good) turns out I may have been right.
I do not want to drop any hints that may cause spoilers - this is a read that will keep you edged from the first scene to the last and every taunt harrowing moment in between.
Be prepared to battle your inner little minion, there are times when the need to peek at the ending is almost an absolute - but DON'T - I promise the wait is worth it.

The main characters all return along with some wonderful and even devious new ones - Plaything brings us a darker almost depraved plotline filled with bloody action and betrayal tha…

Review: Perfect Vision

Perfect Vision by L.M. Halloran
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Thrilling - Scandalous - Intense
A definite must read!

"I remember the other moments, too."
"Memory-beads like stars strung together on my timeline, almost identical, yet each singular in intensity"

The story begins covering flashes of both "then" and " now" - the flow between the two points is done smoothly and is easy to follow - though, it left me a bit apprehensive because we get glimpses of the now that could indite any number of the stories lead characters - and I already liked some of them 😟
I found myself captured easily by the characters in this story. They were so vivid.
➡ London Limerick - just her name tells me she is a handful - and she delivers!
Her character is an absolute wreck - broken she lives each day just going through the motions - step by step
➡ Dominic - Damaged and dangerous he is the perfect sadist. Right from the get, I wanted to string him up by his non-ex…
