We got some Anita and Edward and Otto and Spotted Horse - in the last five chapters 😡
I love Anita's stories - but I want the old Anita back - before therapy! Do not get me wrong I enjoy the poly relationship and the hoops they all jump through to keep the balance - my problem is this has all the feels of a good romance but very little of the action that I crave when I open a Vampire Hunter story - I need the edge of your seat suspense back! I want to shiver, cringe and throw my kindle!
I liked the storyline- it could have gone in so many directions - and I savored the little cookie crumb trails that were scattered about - I just think we could have had a little more blood and death and close calls and a lot less talk of feelings - nothing against you Nathaniel - you still make my heart skip a beat 💓
Overall I enjoyed the read but I did not love it
Let's start with the characters
Tristan - A very old and very skilled vampire who has had just about enough time above ground - his views have become jaded and nothing really holds his attention anymore
Zoe - damn do I love this girl - her job is to kill vampires - protect the humans - pretty easy except she just woke up magically bound to a vampire - WTH?
Jay- you will meet the preacher later in the book - Interesting character to say the least
The Three - our ruling vampires
There are also the were's and the witches and the humans and the fallen - let us just say there is quite the cast of preternatural characters
Story Line - I have to go 10 stars on the twists and OMG moments - despite one of my biggest pet peeves being prevalent I was unable to close my kindle until the final scene
Pet Peeve - Editing - grammar, spelling, scene errors - all of these were prevalent at the beginning of this story. They…
"Are you listening to me?"
"I hear you" "Every unspoken thought. Every emotion you cover up." "I hear you."
This is one of my favorite scenes 😢
I have been waiting for Lorne's story. I knew when it was time - his story would break me, and it did but it also left in its wake a warmth that only a truly poignant romance can do. This is the final book in the series - I am trying so hard not to break and give spoilers - Everything I expected and a whole more I didn't even know I wanted! This series from the beginning has provided its readers with nonstop action, lots of gritty twists and "OMG No" moments and let us not forget the romance- and Booted just brought it all together - lassoed up nice and tight.
Lorne lost his childhood but he also lost his sense of self during the eight years he spent behind bars. He wanted home so bad but when it was time to return he was lost. The colors…
