Absolutely NO SPOILERS - It is imperative that you go in completely blind - Trust me on this - There are just too many "OMG and "NO Please" twists and turns that will keep your heart pumping to risk giving scenes away
When I agreed to read a comp copy of Break My Chains I thought I knew what I was in for - I was so wrong - I did not put this down
This started as a captive romance that eventually led to a betrayal evoking a curiosity to solve a mystery that evolved into a thriller and ended with...- un uh this is one ending you will have to unravel yourself
I do however guarantee it will throw you into a serious case of who dun it
Mia or Pink definitely has my vote for bipolar character of the year - I swear I found myself laughing at her antics one moment and then wanting to knock some sense into her the next - Her world is a solitary one, by choice mind you - She is a bit of a wimp when it comes to facing reality and she does prefer to live in her own little "happy" bubble most of the time. Though I do applaud her for her tenacity even when the odds are against her -And let us not downplay the fact that when life knocks her down she finds the strength to straighten her spine and stand tall even if she stands alone
Martin is all man. I really liked his character. He pulled no punches and was pretty straight forward with his thoughts. Some of which I found highly amusing. I also commend his ability not to strangle Pink - Damn that girl seemed to do everything in her power to push his buttons
I do not want to give away any parts to this story line -
IMO each moment, even the little ones are so very important to how the reader is impacted as events are manifested
If you enjoy your romance with a little humor blended with a whole lot of heat sprinkled with a sexy alpha male and an adorable heroine delivered all wrapped up in a thriller/mystery
Then DO NOT pass this one up

Wow! What an explosive beginning to the next generation in the Badlands series -
Our little angels are all grown up and ready to take their rightful places - Okay, maybe not quite yet, but they are about to get one step closer
I laughed, I cried, I cringed and I was seriously Pissed!!
Bennett brought to Degenerates all the darkness we have come to expect from her.
I really appreciated the way we are slowly introduced to the next generation - the little slices of their pasts and their present that made up their psyche's - and I am excited to see where some of the bread crumb trails will lead us in future releases - I have my eyes on a couple characters
As for our Prince and his Princess *sigh* Be still my beating heart

I may actually be leaning toward Zane and Adelaide as my favorite couple in this series - They were such perfect opposites and the chemistry between them was explosive- They popped off the pages their connection was so vibrant- They had an instant connection which worked for them and they had me enjoying the bloody journey right along with them
Degenerates has it all - Betrayal, Loss, Revenge -
There are a couple scenes I actually glanced away from my reader - somehow in my mind thinking I could avoid the pain from the train wreck taking place on the pages - My heart was shattered and left bloody and broken from a couple different scenes.
I am a bit upset with the small cliff hanger - I want retribution and I don't want to wait - I want it now
For those who have never touched a book in this series STOP - you need to start at the beginning to get the full spine chilling experience

Doctors of Darkness Boxed Set by Ellery A. Kane

It isn't too often I go with five stars -
Daddy Darkest the first in this series absolutely captivated me and would not let me go
As the journey continued I found each book just as captivating and entertaining
There was just something so enticing about the chaos - the tone - the way I kept wanting more with each turn of the page -
If you are looking for a psychological thriller that has intense drama -heart-pounding suspense with slightly twisted psychological undertones- No need to look any further-
This series has it all - All the darkness you seek in a true thriller
Suspense that speeds up your heart rate - small divulgences that cause you to stiffen your spine and tighten your fist -
Kane was a new author for me and I was looking for something that would have me keeping the lights on for a bit after I closed the pages-
I will definitely be looking for more from this series as well as following this author

Own To Obey by Zoey Ellis

And so begins another chapter in the Myth of Omega's Saga
Kardos has acquired him Omega and is returning to the islands - Book 7 picks up pretty much right where we left off - Shaya has agreed to take the place of her sister as Kardos' promised Omega. I think she believes she knows what is to become of her but the reality may be a bit more than she bargained for.
Kardos is an arse! Straight up and absolute self-centered, know it all everyone is beneath his clan, ARSE!! He has big plans and he knows that the chances of him keeping the prize he is transporting are slim - but that does not deter him - He will do everything within his power to control and manipulate the outcome -
He might be redeemable sometime WAY over there in the future but right now I am mad at him - it is going to take a lot of groveling to even get me to entertain the idea of forgiving him
Now our dear sweet Shaya - that girl has been hiding some brass balls under her gowns! I envied her ability to step back and truly analyze the situation - Sure, there are occasions that her choices are a bit irrational but for the most part she takes a moment to think before she reacts - She accepts that she chose this, it was her decision. Kardos is not making the transition any easier, both of them lack the necessary truths with regards to an Omega and this leads to a lot of miscommunication as well as unnecessary pain- I am proud of Shaya that for the most part, she does not do the poor me pity party like so many female leads! She stepped up and offered herself and she accepts that she needs to fulfill her promise.
This first book covers the journey back to the isles and gives us a bit of background about the tribes and how the lands are run- We also are introduced to some entertaining supporting cast members as well as some secondary characters that are both amusing and a bit scary
Something within this storyline did not click for me. Kardos has thrown me off a bit - I feel like his personality has altered a bit - I could be wrong and the author is revealing his true colors - IDK - I guess I will find out as the story progresses because I need the next in series now -I have to know how this plays out - The copy I read was comp

Hawk's Revenge by N.M. Catalano

Here - just take it - take my beating heart directly from my chest - it is yours - Smash it - Obliterate it - then piece it back together for me

Hawk was everything I was expecting and so much more - we were introduced to his character in Breathe - Snakes story (Lawd have mercy). We knew so little about his character but that he was dangerous and manipulated the agenda to meet his needs- When I heard he was finally getting his story - I was elated - Hawk's Revenge was everything I wanted and so much more!
Hawk is on a not-a-mission at the request of a friend (Wait till you find out who OMG! I am hoping his story is next) - He intends to get in get the intel and get out- Easy -Simple - Until it isn't.
Hawk's character did not disappoint - He was such a contradiction of dark and light -I want my own!
Jo is strong and resilient definitely a match for a man like Hawk. After her fathers passing her life became a living nightmare - each day bleeding into the next - never an end in sight - My heart broke for her to lose so much then to be forced to wake each day not knowing what else will be stripped from her life. I envied her strength - No matter how many times she was kicked and shoved to the ground she found a way to stand again - To fight -To find a slice of hope even in the deepest pits of hell
The chemistry between Jo and Hawk is explosive - I enjoyed how they played off each other

The story flows smoothly - easily drawing the reader in and holding them captive while crushing all hope from their heart while simultaneously dampening the light from their souls **Sigh** The perfect read

If you are looking for a little dark, a touch of angst, a twist of mystery and a large dose of romance - Do not pass this one up
There are a few very dark moments within these pages - a bit bloody and graphic so keep that in mind if you have triggers

Beasts & Bourbon by Alta Hensley

I am probably going to be the odd man out but I am okay with that
Definitely not my favorite in this series - I needed more from these two - Actually I wanted more - Both started as such strong and engaging characters but as the story progressed I lost the emotional connection with them I look for in a romance. IMO as a reader, more time spent with the characters would have prevented this problem, just felt a bit rushed
Roman pissed me off a bit - He claims made the choice because he wanted Cheri to be his equal - Possibly true, there were times I believed him others not so much -He seemed to waver a bit not really knowing what he wanted
Cheri bothered me -She starts out a strong heroine then as the story progresses she loses her spine and becomes a blubbering pile of goo - I understand that her psyche needed the direction and was familiar with Roman and that worked for me- I get this was a desire that was awakened because she trusted him - what I do not accept was her psychological slide into the abyss and then "pop" back into the light
