Overture (North Security, #1)Overture by Skye Warren

Overture is the first book in the new series North Securities and what a way to begin what looks to be a very intense and at times taboo series
Liam and Samantha - I am a bit speechless when it comes to these two. Taboo takes on a whole new meaning
He is her guardian - She is his temptation - The forbidden flower that has blossomed

What happens when the universe allows for a brief taste of the forbidden? When for a moment in time there is No right, No wrong, only the chance to indulge your cravings without shame?
An Overture is created - One that will rival the greatest compositions ever composed

Be warned this may cause a sense of unease followed by moments of apprehension and bursts of angst - Oh and let us not forget the taboo romance that will melt the coldest of hearts
This does end on a cliffy - No tantrums

TwistedTwisted by Natasha Knight

I wanted Gregory to get his own story, his own Willow Girl and Knight delivered.
If you haven't read the first two books might I suggest you go no further- without that background of events nothing that happens within these pages will have any real impact
You will not understand the depth of betrayal that Gregory feels towards his brother and why
You will not comprehend the almost painful need that drives his desires to acquire and own a Willow Girl
The wraiths that haunt the edges of the darkness will make no sense
Amelia will be just another girl
And this will be just another story

For the rest of us - I went in with so many allusions as to how this would play out - Nothing prepared me for what unfolded- This was a beautifully detailed romance that brought the reader past the darkness
This did not have the physical darkness we experienced at the beginning of the series - This was more. This was Gregory raw and unabridged - It answered so many questions for me. Amelia I never even saw coming! There were so many ghosts that needed to be laid to rest.

I still have a lot of questions that need to be answered - We have an HFN - But what about little Scafonis? What about Ethan? Mom? Come on like you don't want to know what she did? What happened to her?

Anguished (Crimson Elite, #2)Anguished by T.L. Smith

🔥🔥Hot DAMN I didn't think it could get any better🔥🔥
"You're kind of perfect, do you know that?"
He is her 10 and that is perfect! To perfect for marriage but not for friendly benefits and pure sensual enjoyment.
"You're mine, do you know that?"
She is a breath of fresh air - Chaos that is grounded - Everything he has always wanted and never knew he needed

I am so in love with these two- I closed this story on such an emotional high
I honestly can not tell you what one thing made this the perfect read for me
Both were such charismatic characters - I was there with them
Storm kept me in stitches her character is an absolute blast and Echo, he stole my heart!
I fell in love in love with the guys from Crimson Elite in the previous book Cavalier and Anguished just brought that feeling back home.
There is just something about these characters that make this series practically the perfect read - Don't get me wrong there are little mistakes here and there, and I have questions still - but none of that can compare with the rainbow of emotions that these characters draw from me
Smith has magic on her hands and I truly hope she continues to awe us with this series
The copy I read was comp.

A Soldier's ReturnA Soldier's Return by RaeAnne Thayne

Melissa had enough - enough traipsing across the country - enough of being second to the ocean. Deciding to restart her life Melissa returned home with her daughter. Life was once again looking up - yeah Cody was still an absentee father but that was okay Melissa was happy and Skye was thriving. Things were good - until a morning jog brings her past barreling into her - quite literally I might add. Melissa knows Eli won't be staying and she has been down this road before - She has no intentions of letting her heart be broken once again.
Eli has always had eyes for Melissa but back then it was not meant to be and now that opportunity has presented once again - it can not be. The fact he will be her superior is only one of the many reasons. She has a daughter and he has a past.
This is a sweet romance that occasionally tugs at the heartstrings
Perfect for a winter indoors read - would go well with a fire and a glass of wine

Suspects & Scales (Stallion Ridge #3)Suspects & Scales by Maz Maddox

I love this series! 😍
I think Cody and Quellin might possibly be my favorite couple so far
The Stallion Ridge series is a magical blend of fantasy, the old west, mystery, and suspense all wrapped up in the sweetest of love stories - It marks ✔all the right boxes for me.
I think Cody has always held my heart. He is innocence personified - despite his own sad past he still looks for the good in everyone and boy does he have a curious streak.
We picked up pretty much where book 2 left off - Cody is still trying to come to terms with the "gift" he acquired as well as the guilt he feels regarding his friend's death. With the murderer still on the loose, a specialist is brought in to assist the sheriff.
Enter Quellin - tall dark and yummmm - need I say more? Quell finds himself enamored by Colts youth and innocence - knowing he shouldn't indulge but unable to resist a sample Quell finds himself in a tough spot. He has commitments and his position does not allow for a happy ever after. Wanting and Knowing are two very different things.

This story had me laughing, holding my breath, wiping those silent tears and releasing the occasional 'awwww'
What are you waiting for? Go on and get yourself over to Stallion Ridge!
Oh and before I go

Depraved (The Devil's Duet, #1)Depraved by Eva Charles

Be prepared this ends on a major cliffhanger
Georgina has built a life that any woman would be proud of. She has a loving family, a supportive bff- and her newly renovated hotel is rising fast as the place to stay.
JD's life is not black and white. Over a decade ago tragedy reshaped his world and the man he believes responsible was just elected president. Now the woman he sent away to protect might be in danger because of him and he is not walking away from her this time.
This was filled with a lot of bread crumb trails that definitely kept me on edge and trying to figure out who is lying , who is playing for keeps and why?? I had even more questions as the final scene played.
The relationship between the main characters is volatile if not highly strained - they both are holding back and as a reader I could feel the tension
I want to knock their heads together - get those cobwebs cleared from the past so you can see their future!
Though I do want to give them props they seem to have the physical part of their relationship perfected 😉
