OUR THOUGHTS:
Not quite the fairy tale ending -
but then again Humpty Dumpty was never put back together again either,
so it was quite fitting
This is the second in the duet so if you have not read book one...
Snowy uncovered so many secrets and betrayals in this closing episode. She knew she was a pawn but to really see with the blinders removed was a whole new type of pain. I still think she was a bit over dramatic at times and occasionally came across as immature. And yes *eye roll* she still jumps in without thinking things through. I admit though I felt a better connection with her in this episode than previously. There is a lot of emotional growth and though she is still muddling her way through I enjoyed watching her true strengths emerge.
As the story line unravels we see Blake's attempts at placing what equates to a band-aid on the damage he has done. He wants his Snow's affections but he is unsure of how to go about fixing what he has broken. I truly think that after the trauma and betrayal that was his youth he lacks the skills necessary to have a 'healthy' relationship. He tries with Snow but when it comes to verbally communicating, he lacks the ability so it usually ends up more of "physical" exchange of sentiments.
I am not sure how I feel about the brothers, their betrayals and their secrets - this was an area I felt we lacked in detail.
I will say the twist though - Soo did not see that coming!
There were a few 'OH Hell No' moments that had me white knuckling my reader. As the 'Whys?' were slowly exposed it was at times a bit heartbreaking.
I felt there was so much more going on behind the scenes that still needed to be told. I got some of the answers I was seeking but I also still have a few unanswered questions regarding some of the supporting cast like -
Why? Where?
The brothers? The sister? The whole lineage thing?
I do hope the author provides us the opportunity to get the rest of the story in possible cast spin-offs.
