Queen of Dreams (The Masks of Under #3)Queen of Dreams by Kathryn Ann Kingsley

"Welcome to Under, Cupcake. Where everything is creepy and the murder party's the best party because the murder party never stops. " - Q

Lydia awakens from her death to find she is no longer the lowly mortal plaything of Under. Now she is its immortal pawn in a game she has no understanding of.
Betrayed, lost and feeling at the end of her rope Lydia finds that door number one may not have been the best choice after all.
I know I said this previously but it bears repeating Lyd's is one kick arse heroine. When it gets to be too much she takes a step back and with the use of humor and sarcasm and the rarely used ability common sense (my favorite) she tackles the things that can be changed and well deals with that which can not.

After Aon lost Lydia he honed his pain and emptiness into a fine blade of anger he intended to wield in retribution.
But when Lydia awakens as the new queen he immediately fears for her safety. Having heard the oracle's prediction he believes what he is doing is the right thing for Lyd. He accepts that his actions may cost him the one thing he ever truly desired.
"All the wrong things for all the right reasons. "
I truly love his character even with his sadistic tendencies.

I had to step back a couple of times to dry my eyes. You would think to be a queen would have given her some semblance of power but her life is even more of a living nightmare than when she was merely a mortal for the residents of Under to toy with.
Can she see past the pain and betrayal that seems to cast darkness on her every breath?

And Edu ... I want to shred him limb from limb!

Nothing turns out as I hoped
Okay that isn't quite true - Q - I totally want my own Q

Kingsley once again takes the reader on a journey into one of the most vivid and colorful worlds that I have had the pleasure of visiting. A uniquely creative cast that endears and enrages.
If dark fantasy is your genre this is one series not to be missed!

Primal Possession (Alphas of Sandor, #1)Primal Possession by Tabitha Black

Saskia had five years of freedom - five extra years to flourish, to dream - to realize in the blink of an eye everything she had lost.
Arius was tired of the same monthly ritual, he knew there was nothing new for him to gaze upon, nothing that would call to him on a primal level. But alas he needed to walk the walk even if he didn't feel it. He had to find her soon, his mate, before his uncle produced an heir and all was lost.

Arius is the type of alpha a girl wants to keep. He was intelligent, determined and he had empathy! I know that is a rarity in the world of Omegaverse. Was he perfect? No. He did a few things that would have angered any woman for a moons cycle at least. I did question Saskia a couple of times with how quick she forgave him. Blame it on the heat? LOL
Saskia was battling with her inner omega for a bit but ultimately pleasure and love won out. She was intelligent and held on to her beliefs, quick to have a retort or devise a scheme (yeah I liked her even if she on occasion was also quick to display her neck).
The scenes of intimacy between our H/h flowed from holy chit that's hot to sugar sweet awwww. I did enjoy their relationship. It wasn't as push and pull as some of the darker Omegaverse reads. It was more a reluctant toe dip.
The story line was engaging with a strong plot line that was easy to follow. A bit of suspense woven within that kept you on the edge.
I do wish this had been longer. There were characters as well as some scenes that I wanted more from. Could just be me being greedy.

This is a modestly written Omegaverse - meaning not an excessive show of violence or dub-con, though it is present so if that isn't your cup of tea. . .
I would definitely recommend for first-time readers looking at tasting the genre of Omegaverse.
I do see this series developing into a very exciting and entertaining journey.
I think I know who's next to fall to the mating call.

Fearless (Elite Doms of Washington, #5)Fearless by Elizabeth SaFleur

An emotional journey that hits all the right notes making for a very raw and sensuous MFM romance
Sarah the classy Domme who protects her heart behind a wall of strict rules and guidelines
Laurent the sweet submissive who was given a second chance at love and happiness.
Steffan a Dom who loves beyond barriers and definitions
Years ago Steffan found the perfect match to his soul, but at the time it was not meant to be. An opportunity has presented itself that will give Steffan a chance to bring together the two people in his life that mean everything to him. He just needs to prove to Sarah that she deserves to be loved and so much more.
Can a Master and a Mistress find the perfect balance between them?
I fell in love with Laurent right away - there is an innocence to him that calls to me. Steffan has a manipulative undertone to him - NOT that I do not adore his character and wish I was kneeling at his feet - I think it was the fact he knew what he wanted and made sure the certain situations met his needs?

The Good Mistake (Hemsworth Brothers, #3)The Good Mistake by Haleigh Lovell

I laughed so hard - I snorted!

“He was a cranky, curmudgeonly fusspot who loved complaining for the sake of complaining.” - Lucy

Edric had it all. Fame. Fortune. Good Looks. A wonderful sense of humor, though at times it was a bit off key. What he didn't have was luck with relationships. But never fear he had that covered, or should I say his alter ego did. Who doesn't love a country boy?
Lucy was his match in all ways. She loved the same genres. Shared the same off-key sense of humor. And they both needed something the other could provide. Together they formulated a plan. It was foolproof.
It was perfect!

The story line was easy to follow and unquestionably kept my attention. There was just the right touch of angst added to tug at the heartstrings while not dampening the magic that was them. The supporting cast was the perfect succor for the story line. The wedding (not theirs) had me almost peeing my pants I was laughing so hard. At times the comedy is a bit foolery but it worked so well with these characters. It didn't feel out of place.
Really enjoyed this read.

Obscene (Dahlia Saga Book 2)Obscene by Natalie Bennett

Back inside the halls of Dahlia -
Mason returns to care for his father and prepare to take over the family business.

"I knew better though. Sometimes our heads could be a dangerous place. My mind had always been my worst enemy. "
- Katie
Katie was just a touch different
The voices at times were just a little too loud
And not all her thoughts were pure, but she was a good girl.

"People tell you to be yourself, and then they judge you for it. "
- Mason
Mason knew she was made for him. She was just like him, she was just afraid to be herself.
He would fix her, even if he had to break her first.

Katie has a backbone she just forgets it's there at times. Her mom was a piece of work and the emotional berating she bombarded Katie with growing up would offset anyone's sense of self-worth. I have to say her 'internal' discussions were entertaining and at times almost childlike in their innocence at other times her quest for blood rivaled Mason's. Though she did not act on her fantasies. She was a good girl. It was interesting to watch as Mason helped her spread her wings (??)

Mason was so head over heels for Katie. Anything for her. He truly lacked any patience with the outside world but Katie, even when she was stomping on his last nerve, was different for him. He saved her once (so not telling) and he was going to save her again - No matter the cost.

Each episode uncovers a few more secrets delivering to its reader another piece of the puzzle. Each new unveiling sheds light on the 'hobbies' of our resident serial killers.
I adore this family - get beyond the hobbies and there is a lot to them. The bond between them. How they truly hold family and honesty in such high regards. The way they rationalize their art.

This is graphic dark romance - note the word graphic - please don't play in the red room if the flowing crimson might pose a problem for you

Claimed by Magic (Wolf Creek Shifters, #3)Claimed by Magic by H.R. Savage

This states it can be read as a standalone, which is how I approached it. No problem following but I can say with certainty had I read the series starting from the first release I would have been even more enraptured with the cast.

Aidan has protected Killian's family before. He is a Warlock, a Seer. His visions are a blessing and a curse. Some good, some bad. Even if he can he is not to interfere with the futures of other species without previous approval. When a vision involves the sexy and mouthy Fallon, Aidan approaches his superior (he has a fancy title ) Duval requesting permission to assist. Permission denied! (Really disliked Duval) Unlike the rest of the magical society, Aidan can't turn his back just because they are not witches.
Will he risk punishment to save a shifter? Can he save her?
I really really liked Aidan. He was quirky in a confident, sexy way. He was vocal in his thoughts though he did attempt to tread carefully so an not to offend, not that he was always successful. He did what he knew was right even if he stood alone.
Fallon I truly had trouble with. She is a sniveling self-absorbed brat. Everything was about her - Her freedom- Her life - Her feelings- I would have dumped Her arse in the snow and left her! Yeah, she had her good points but she was so wrapped up in possible slights against her femininity that at times she was a danger to those trying to help her unappreciative arse!
Felicity and Oliver are on my faves list for supporting characters along with Luke and Cat.
The world building was well done, even had a few twists to the paranormal (like Aidan's scent when he cast).
I enjoy the more detailed and full-length paranormal reads and Savage delivers with Claimed by magic.
Full of action and suspense with an edge to the unknown that keeps the reader engaged. The relationship between our H/h was intense - Aggravating and perfect. It fit their characters to a tee.
Wait till you find out the why behind the vision?
I am going to suggest this be read in order with the series. Especially if Paranormal is your normal genre.
This series checks all my must have boxes - complex world building with solid plotlines and a vivid and creative cast of characters that you will love or loathe.
