Daylan, a warlock, is being haunted, but what the ghost wants is a mystery. His magical powers bring him no closer to an answer—until he encounters Josie, a Yoga instructor.
But when she is kidnapped by an ancient Fae Warrior set on revenge, Daylan must rescue her before the rogue claims her as his own. During his quest, his world spirals out of control, and a devastating curse comes to light. Could the ghost hold the answers he needs?
Can he break the age-old curse to save Josie and their future, or will Daylan lose her forever?

Excerpt 1
Suddenly, the wind changed direction, a thin maroon line formed along the flat bottom of the dark clouds spreading across the sky where moments before there’d been only a few fluffy cotton ball clouds in a sea of blue. The maroon line widened then switched to vertical and spread open to reveal a shimmering interior.
Shadows emerged from the cloud then disappeared. As he was about to comment, huge raindrops plopped on the ground followed by pea size hail that grew to softball size.
Josie ran for cover and he followed. Protected under a ledge, she cupped her hands over her ears as the roaring of the storm combined with huge ice balls smashing against rocks echoed through the canyon. She elbowed him and cocked a brow in question, pointing to the vegetation that remained unharmed.
His eyes narrowed. Something isn’t right. I can feel it. Magic is spinning this storm. But who—how and why? At a loss for answers, he shrugged and urged her further under the ledge to wait out the storm. Brushing the wet strands of hair out of her face, he smiled. She looked like a drowned rat but the fragrance around her reminded him of sweet spring flowers. He leaned into to her and brushed his lips over hers. Immediately, he straightened and backed away. Her eyes were still closed. Maybe I could’ve lingered…
Her eyes blinked open and she licked her lips. After a beat, she waggled a finger in front of him. “Not a good idea.”

 Excerpt 2
Without warning, Shay and his Fae warriors materialized beside the group. An eyebrow raised, he nodded. “We’ll take it from here.”
“Not with Josie inside,” he protested.
A loud boom shook the ground and the side wall of the building collapsed. Purple smoke billowed up and Shay cursed. “Get him. Don’t let him get away.” The warriors rushed forward toward the building. A column of the purple haze rose upward and spread across the sky dimming to lilac. Shay and the warriors disappeared with the haze after one of their own.
Josie stumbled out coughing and choking. Daylan rushed to her side as she collapsed in his arms holding her hands out, palms up. The group formed a circle around them as he eased her to the ground.
Summer’s eyes widened as she pointed to the subtle orange glow rising from Josie’s palms. “I believe her latent magic must have saved her.”

Excerpt 3
In the dusky light, a shadowy figure stalked up the sidewalk in a neighborhood of predominately large turn-of-the-century homes. One stood out from the rest. The building had obviously been remodeled. Taking a closer look, Daylan finally spied the hand-carved wooden sign with large sweeping letters “Welcome to Earthbound Yoga Studio”. The sign complemented the house’s architecture, and something was familiar with the style. Shrugging, he crept closer. This had to be it. All his research indicated this was where she’d surfaced.
The windows were dark as he climbed the three steps leading to the porch and eased down on the top stair. A streetlight in the middle of the block blinked on and off casting shadows from the large trees surrounding the area. How can I do this? What makes me think…. He’d spent most of the night sitting there trying to figure out how to execute his plan. Yeah, it wasn’t much of a plan either. At least the Scotsman hadn’t made an appearance…yet.

Excerpt 4
She swallowed hard and blinked.
Out of the mist, in full Scottish regalia, a ghost stood, his transparent red and green belted plaid blowing in the breeze.
She shook her head, closed her eyes, scrubbed her hands over her eyes, and blinked them open. “What the hell?” burst from her lips before she could control herself. “It’s some kind of bad dream. Right?” She rubbed her eyes again opening only one this time. “Shit, you’re all still here.” She dropped her arms to her sides and glared at Daylan then Summer. “Someone better tell me what’s going on—right now.” Her hands fisted and unfisted at her sides.
Daylan returned her scathing look. “Later.”
“We meet again Shay.” The ghost said. “What kind of attire are ye wearing?”
“Never mind. Ye are the cause of the problem, Daylan.” The leader glared at the ghost.
“Oh, no—not this time,” the ghost said.
Daylan stood straight. “No way. I’m not taking the blame for this.”
Shay grinned. “Oh, now things are falling in place.” He pointed a finger at Daylan. “You are his namesake and that is why Khellan has returned.” He flicked a finger at the ghost. “And you have attached to your namesake hoping he or his twin can break the curse. What a tangle.” Shifting his gaze to her, he continued. “This young lass is caught in the middle with naught power to protect herself.”
“For god sakes. She’s mortal. How can she be caught in the middle?” Daylan shouted. “She shouldn’t even be able to see what’s happening.”
“Yet she does. Something to think about.” Shay shrugged one shoulder. “She is besotted with you, as you are with her. The lass’s blood may be diluted, but it’s there. The cycle begins again.”

With the majestic Rocky Mountains just outside the window, I sit at my computer with vampires, demons, witches, faeries, and a variety of paranormal creatures gathered around telling me their stories! That makes me an author of paranormal romance novels and cozy mysteries with magic spark. The everyday world is mundane, but sprinkle a little magic and you have fantastic!

Colorado is home. I share my life with a wonderful husband of many moons, our brilliant Chow Chow, a terribly spoiled companion parrot, and a forty-year-old

box turtle. We enjoy hiking, biking, and camping, also love water sports including kayaking and whitewater

rafting, especially on the Arkansas River through the Royal Gorge.

Another passion of mine is reading a good novel. You can find me any winter evening curled up in front

of a crackling fire with a good book, a mug of hot chocolate, and a big bowl of popcorn. While growing up, if I didn’t like the ending of a book, I’d rewrite it, which led to writing my own books.

Reluctantly, I discovered that in real life it’s tough to rewrite an ending.
