Dave well Dave needs a little less chaos and a lot more air freshener
Dave is a private investigator and a bonafied medium.
His personality is questionable - one minute he is singing the praises of his girlfriend and the next he is acting like she is an ornament. There were also a couple of scenes that IMO he felt even slimier than I imagined Joe was when he wasn't decaying on the furniture.
Joe is or was a mobster who should be cooling his heels at the morgue - but he's not he is seeking out revenge and furthering his education. I liked Joe. He sort of grows on you after a bit.
Liz leaves a bit to be desired.
This reminds me a bit of the old black and white detective shows. The bad guy sitting behind the desk, a cigarette dangling from his lips while our detective narrates the scene with a deep tenor voice. The ditsy female assistant (girlfriend) that adds a touch of spice and comic relief.
An easily resolved who done it that leaves a few questions unanswered while stoically stamping the file case closed.
The story itself was fun.
A short read that at times was a bit jumpy but overall entertaining.
The series is set as a serial read so we are left with one case closed but some open questions.
The copy I read was comped
