A fabulously funny romance that had me laughing, fuming and occasionally swooning!
This is my first time reading Sweeney's work. It definitely will not be my last.
The easy way the outrageous blended with the normalcy ... it was brilliant
I'm having trouble wording this to express my thoughts ...
Just know it's got all the suspense
All the revenge
And the romance
Mason ...
She reminds me of that friend, the one you are always feeling the need to protect. The one that is always looking for the silver lining even when they are standing directly under the storm ☁ clouds getting drenched. That was Mason.
Oh, she was looking for her revenge but there was such an innocence to her - even when she was attempting to be evil.
Rex was a whole different ball of yarn - he was the knots that kept Mason's life from unraveling - even if she didn't realize it at the time. She had dedicated her life to making Rex pay (more like she was a bit of a gnat always buzzing your head never quite biting). But behind all the breaking and entering, the amusing attempts at humiliation she unknowingly wove her world around him and his around her.
Rex lived for Mason's harassment. He wasn't going to admit it but I guess in a way it gave him a sense of " paying " for his sins.
Rex had his own demons. He never set out to destroy her world, to rip out her heart. His only choice was one of two evils. No matter which path he followed it would cost someone their life.
He chose the path he was familiar with.
Beyond the side-splitting laughter, the knuckle-whitening suspense there lies the sweetest of love stories that will wrap itself tightly around your heartstrings bringing out all the feels.
And I can't forget the brothers - I can't wait to read their stories!
Oh, or Mrs. Cho (she scares, me more than the brothers)
And Wesley and Bambi ( I'm not telling)...
If you like your romance with a side of comedy, a dash of suspense and a dose of who done (or is doing ) it

After dumping Ian off on Bones and Cat Veritas is on a mission to collect the escaped and finally rid the world of one pesky demon
Girls gotta get her vengeance
Ian ... Sigh what can I say I love 💘 his snark, his unstoppable need to irritate every being that comes within 50 ft of him
Things aren't quite right and Ian knows it. Since his newly acquired bride won't respond to his texts he will just have to get her attention the hard way
I think I enjoyed this episode more than the first!
Chocked full of "oh he 'll no you did not" scenes
Followed up by lots of "way to go you got this" moments
All neatly wrapped up in one massive mess of backstabbing, new allegiance making, evil burning, heart-stopping twists, turns, and steamy romance
The chemistry between these two is cataclysmic. I have always enjoyed Ian - honestly the whole cast but the way these two play off each other- One always attempting to protect the other - it makes for lots of hilarity, heartache, and happiness
We are introduced to some kick-arse new character as well as spend time with our long favorites.
Secrets that should probably have stayed hidden have become unearthed making an already complicated nearly impossible fight for survival almost look like child's play
I am already impatiently awaiting the next in this series

Gotta love 💘 the girl. When she first came to the scene I wasn't too sure about her. Okay fine, I actually liked Dreikx better. She seemed so self-absorbed, immature, just 👎 No.
But and this is one of the reasons I wish the story was longer -
She is truly none of that.
I don't know if it's the "connection" she has with Dreikx or what. But it was a complete 180 with regards to her maturity rating
Dreikx has decided it is time to acquire his reward - wait till you find out why now is the proper "time" to collect. Oh, and let me not forget all the other deviant secrets he has been withholding.
Mike is still out there and now he may be targeting a specific omega to ensure his place with the Earth King - another little breadcrumb that is revealed to us during this episode
Ohhhh and the wee prince! OMG
Again I am pouting just a touch - I wish this was longer there is just too much good stuff going on and I would have enjoyed a slower turn around with Tamey.

This is a fast-paced read that evokes all your senses. From the shadows that veil that most debauched of deeds to the light that offers hope and second chances

Except for his heart
The story is told from Vlad's perspective which is something I enjoyed. He is the father of darkness after all and getting to see his thoughts was a delightful treat. I would not want to get on his bad side he was ruthless if needs be.
Vlad's love for Elizabeth was why he originally targeted Mina but it was Mina who kept him. She was independent but not - I know a bit confusing but once you read it you will get it.
Lucy what a handful that about sums her up.
The beginning of this reads a bit like the historical version of Vlad but this slowly evolves into something more. The author also spends a bit of time setting up the long run story line, introducing us to some of the key players and giving us little glimpses of what is to come.
Excited to see who from the Hellfire club falls next.

Serious daddy issues!
Shaun has me wanting to redden her backside while educating her on the way the world really works!
I knew some spoiled self-absorbed princesses while I was in college and I believe Shaun just might take their crowns!
How much air is required to keep you functioning?
Now that I have that off my chest I can only hope she matures greatly as this series continues - Because, the rest of the cast?
Spot on! So want to be a part of their world.
Drew blames himself for what happened to Shaun's mom - his first love. So when the opportunity arises to not only make amends with his best friend but to quit living in the shadows of that guilt he knows he has to take it.
The problem is his heart is overruling his common sense and the little tease is not helping matters.
The storyline was easy to follow with a great cast/supporting cast (besides our hormonally unbalanced heroine). Just the right mix of suspense with some solid resolutions that also left possibilities for future encounters.
Drew takes the chemistry between him and Shaun to a whole new level. He acknowledges his desires and he accepts that there is not a threat large enough to stop him from moving forward on them. Especially when said desire is a serious little tease. Be careful princess.
We get to meet some of what I'm hoping are future main characters as well as glimpses of their possible baggage. I did enjoy how the author worked the different backgrounds and criminal elements into the story without giving away to much.
MC is not normally one of my go-to genres but I think this is one of those series that is worth my time.
