Vendetta Road (Torpedo Ink #3)Vendetta Road by Christine Feehan
Blurb:
Isaak “Ice” Koval is on a club mission when he sees a woman who stops him dead in his tracks. Soleil is a sweet, sexy, girl-next-door type. She’s an innocent who should be nowhere near the rough-and-ready world of the Torpedo Ink motorcycle club. But Ice knows Soleil belongs with him—and he’ll do whatever it takes to keep her.
After a life of drifting from one thing to the next, Soleil Brodeur is determined to take control of her life. When her breakup with her manipulative fiancé turns ugly, Soleil searches out the stranger who offered her a lifeline and ends up in a Las Vegas biker bar where she meets a gorgeous, dangerous man straight out of her most secret fantasies.
High on adrenaline, she finds herself falling faster than she thought possible. But Soleil knows little about the territory she’s stumbled into, and even less about what it really means to be Ice’s woman

My Thoughts:
Love 💘 Hate Relationship with this release
I was so excited for this release - This series has been solid to date
A bit disappointed 😒
The story line idea 💡 was a solid five
The follow-through - wasn't there
Soleil was a bit of a hot 🔥 mess
She was trapped in a bad relationship. Drowning in self-loathing and reeling from the recent loss of one of her only friends.
This was a girl who once lived for the next adrenaline high and could party till dawn.
Now she is but a former shell of her self emotionally tired and physically hurt.
It only takes a serendipitous encounter for the blinders to be shifted. To truly see the woman in the mirror, the one she once was. Time to take back her life.
Ice had never had such a visceral reaction like he experienced when he spotted the girl in the sundress
She took away all his self-control, all his training and unknowingly brought him to his knees.
Two opposites
One driving desire
To be accepted
I actually had to skim about 75% of the "hands-on" moments.
I'm not going to call them romantic encounters, or any similar such phrase because they weren't!
What happened?
I have always enjoyed the sexual edge in Feehan's writing but it also usually came with an emotional connection between the characters
Even if it was an instant attraction, soul mates, or the like.
The first 30% was nothing but mindless sex that had no connection.
Eventually, the story began to take shape and I would become invested only to experience the occasional setback. I barely felt any connection with the two main characters.
I understand the building required for a series and this is one I have truly enjoyed up until now.
WHY?
I am not abandoning this series - I enjoy the cast too much and am invested in their future. I just hope that the next we get a story.

Braxtyn (Mated to the Alien Book 8)Braxtyn by Kate Rudolph
Blurb:
She's hunting a bounty, not a mate...
Vita Minnick has one job: hunt down lowlifes who owe her boss money and deliver them for a profit. When a ticket for Braxtyn NaZade comes up it should be a job just like any other. But from the moment she sees him, Vita can't help but think he's... different. She's not going to fall for one of her marks, but what if there's been a mistake?
Brax doesn't owe anyone anything...
When a masked woman steals him away from Earth, Brax knows he's in trouble. At first, he just wants to go home. But when he catches sight of the red headed huntress all his plans change. Who would have thought his fated mate would be the one to abduct him?
When a betrayal rocks Vita's identity to the core, she and Brax will need to work together to get to the bottom of the mystery... and to get justice. But can a Detyen claim a bounty hunter who refuses to be tied down? Brax might have found his denya, but he'll need to convince her he's worth the risk... before they both perish.

My Thoughts:
Coming right off the heels of reading Shayn I was excited to see that of the twins Braxtyn was next though I am curious to read Deakon's story.
Braxtyn is not a warrior by any means but he is fiercely protective of his family. Having spent most of his life on a station the transition to Earth has been a hard one for him. Unlike his brothers the solitude and ability to explore is something he enjoys, actually craves. Maybe it is the looming price that is driving his need. It couldn't be that he envies his brother and his Denya.
Vita is a warrior through and through. She doesn't need anyone just her flying bucket and her job as a bounty hunter. That is until her next bounty stirs unwanted sensations, possibly even feelings.
Can two very opposite souls find common ground?
Is Vita's past hold a connection to her present?
Can Braxtyn find the patience to convince a weary Vita that he can offer her what she most desires?
A partner - An equal - True love?
This was filled with twists and turns and a whole lot of "No Way!" moments that you do not see coming. The betrayals are strong and strike close leaving our heroine even more cautious of her heart. Braxtyn, despite his brooding personality in the previous book, comes alive when he is with Vita. The brooding "Eeyore" persona seems to vanish as he offers Vita the unconditional support and understanding that she needs to work through the painful events that lead to the present.
Another wonderfully sweet read that has all the action, suspense and romance that I enjoy in a solid read.

Brutal & Raw (Beneventi Family, #1)Brutal & Raw by Sonya Jesus
Blurb:
He wanted everything. He could have my nothings too.
My whole life, I've been running, living just under the radar. The day I arrived on the East Coast, looking for a new start, I found an end instead. One careless night landed me in the hands of a dark mafia boss, who wanted nothing more than to render me a number—to eviscerate my identity with his brutal mind game.
327.

That’s what he called me. That’s all I was to him.
At least at first, before Breaker Beneventi told me all his family secrets, trickled his way into my heart, and then ordered my death. He set me free, knowing the butcher would find me.
Now, I'm the girl who escaped. The one with the power to destroy his organization. And he's relentlessly searching for Lyla Vaughn all over the country, spilling the blood of innocents and losing his control.
But he's not going to find me. Because that's not my name.
From Bestselling author Sonya Jesus comes "Brutal and Raw" a psychological thriller romance full of plot twists, interwoven with dark mafia romance.
Disclaimer: Breaker's world is not suitable for all audiences! Venture only if you like thrills in the dark and have a night light

My Thoughts:
Definitely plays on the darker side of man's insanity
Holy Ch it!
I was not sure what I expected going in but it sure wasn't the yummy darkness I discovered.
I will never look at gourmet pet feed the same again, I just wanted to share that.
The overall story idea was ... Wow
The Farm was a new concept for me, in the romance genre anyway, and I must say it changed the overall topography and added a bit more to the story line
We go back and forth a bit from present to past as the author builds the world and provides us with a bit of foundation to better understand the Who's and What's. I did wish there was a bit more detail. At times I felt a touch lost as to the why's. I am hoping as this series moves forward that is something that will be corrected.
The collection of characters?
Again Wow.
Each was so unique and truly molded to fit their part (almost, I had a problem with the main male lead)
Breaker, for me, lacked the spine to be a leader. I felt like he was lacking control I would expect from his position and he drank like a fish instead of manning up.
327 was a lost soul. She had the right idea most of the time but her follow-through was sorely lacking.
Butcher may have been my favorite character just for his insanity
I am looking forward to seeing how some of the breadcrumbs that were tossed about play out for our cast in future episodes
With all this scrumptious darkness laid out like a feast before me, you might ask why I do not feel fully satisfied.
It was missing something - for me anyway, I just could not connect with the characters on the level I would have liked.
It may have been Breaker himself that threw me - Could have just been me -I don't know.
I do however know I will be moving forward in this series because I need to know.

SirenSiren by Hazel Grace
Blurb:
I’m one of the most alluring creatures in the world.
Dangerous.
Beautiful.
Powerful.
A siren.
One of seven princesses of Lacuna.
But I wanted more than that, so much more than the trinkets I stowed in my caverns. I wanted my own piece of the world.
And I got it.
However with that wish came a price, and that price came with secrets.
Two of which should never have been able to set foot on where I reside.
The fate of my heart belongs to Lacuna, but whose heart belongs to me?
My Thoughts:
Another amazing addition to the Sinister Fairy-tales collection
The theme is very loosely based on a little red-headed mermaid that was once quite popular but the author has taken it to a whole new level and blended in a bit of Norse mythology.
Here our little Siren has given up her voice for a much different reason
From the opening, I was taken by the uniquely different approach the author took to the characters. A couple of story lines were developing at the same time within Siren.
How had Dagen arrived on the island?
What did he want? Did his father know?
Why was Davina without a voice? Why were her powers so vastly "unique" compared to her sisters?
The search for Tobias' brother.. and why was Tobias able to see the island?
Davina is still the curious creature she was always meant to be but she now comes with a much darker side to her .. and let us not forget her sisters -
Together they are the seven siren granddaughters of Poseidon
Dagen has ended up in their hands and not as a guest. He has a secret and our sexy sirens are going to get it out of him .. by torturous means or pleasurable - guess that all depends on which side of the chains you are on
Then there is our lovable (or ?) Tobias who has always had eyes on the sweet Davina. Can he lure her heart once again?
So many secrets
So many deceptions
