Her Greatest Mistake by Eve L. Mitchell ➱ Release Blitz

Her Greatest Mistake by Eve L. Mitchell is LIVE!

Release Date: June 13

I knew the moment I saw Aiden that he was the kind of man who would break a woman’s heart. With his looks, he could grace the cover of any book or magazine.

Even as I got to know him, his hard no-nonsense attitude was alluring. He was as captivating as he was intense, and having his attention was as intoxicating as it was overwhelming. My pulse raced and my stomach fluttered when I was near him.

Yes, Aiden would break a woman’s heart. If she let him.

Maybe, even if she didn’t.

I didn’t mean to let him break mine. I didn’t mean to let him get so far under my skin that he got into my heart.

One moment of passion—that’s all it was. I was reckless. I was stupid.

I didn’t know.

He ripped my heart out without even breaking a sweat.

He said he could explain. I don’t want to hear his lies.

I was stupid that night, but I can’t be again. I can’t let him close enough to make the same mistake twice.

This is one of those where I kept asking myself "But why?"

There was a physical pull between Jemma and Aiden but that was it really.
He never took the time to truly make a connection with Jemma.
She didn't even know his last name, which was fine when it was a hookup but after months of working in the same building? A couple of sexual interludes? Come on.

There were a couple of moments (they passed briefly) where I thought Aiden might give a little of himself. But nope it was just a tease to keep his new possession on her leash.
I really did not like him.

Jemma where are you ovaries woman?
Sure the numbers guy was a bit misogynistic but hello??
Compared to Aiden? He could be the poster boy for women's rights.
At least he admitted his failures.

Take into account all the posturing - and it is not just Aiden.
Add into that mix a two-faced supposed best friend-
A criminal father who is just a blatant meanie-
A marriage of convenience (not sure who's really)-
A jealous "not really a wife" wife (wait for it)-
Add a bit of comic relief provided via friends and family-
And you have a soap opera that will keep you bouncing back and forth
on the love ya - loathe ya court.

The writing was solid and the story flowed easily.
We get the whole thing from Jemma's perspective.
I can't help but wonder if maybe we had seen a bit of the story from Aiden's perspective
(what he was thinking when he was discarding Jemma like a used paper plate)
it would have been easier to connect with him? them?
For me, that missing connection is what lowered this to an okay read.
I just ...
There where to many things I could not get past and I missed the connection.
The copy I read was comp
