Series: The Billionaire Boys' Club #1
Author: Sebastian Winters
Genre: LGBT Gay Romance 18+
Release Date: July 28, 2020
What can possibly go wrong?
It'll take twelve weeks to help a friend, but only one day to ruin their friendship.
Carter reluctantly agrees to fill in at his best friend Katy's job, which is personal assistant to the grumpy, old, moneybags--Katy's description not Carter's.
However, when the boss, turns out to be tall, dark and the very man of Carter's dreams, he knows he's in for a heap of trouble. Especially after being sent home twenty minutes into his first day.
Now, he's not only worried he's lost Katy's job, but her friendship too.
This is an insta-love romance that actually was quite endearing.
All the steamy romance and a bit of an "OMG No" moment happen in just a couple of weeks -
I greedily wish it was longer.
Carter is temping for his BFF with her "grumpy, old, moneybags" boss.
He can do this -
How grumpy can he be?
Lance runs a very tight ship. He has to if he wants to stay on top.
He doesn't have time for common pleasantries and social acts of niceties
Wasted emotions if you will.
But a strong-willed very smexy temp just may change all that.

When the past and the present collide Lance finds himself in uncharted waters
and Carter?
He finds himself bound and gagged
and NOT in a fun way.

I will admit the small tidbits tossed about here and there was definitely an enticement.

I do wish we had a bit more character development so
I could have formed a stronger bond with the cast.
I did eventually click with some of them but I personally prefer a bit more build-up.
I think part of the delay in connection for me was the author's writing style.
I am not a fan of the "script" style (Joe took three steps to the door reached with his right hand and placed it upon the silver doorknob then proceeded to slowly twist the doorknob to the right and ...)
I know -

How can I complain about too much detail when I just previously said I wanted more?
I am more of an emotional reader, I crave that connection -
