“You would have no
power over me without that staff,” Os growled and stepped towards Thie.
Before Os got close to him, Thie commanded,
“I banish you from my presence and the home of our people.
Your powers no more.
Walk the Earth evermore.”
“Don’t break the circle”, Thie told them.
Neither magic user was exactly sure what was about to occur. Nervously they
waited in anticipation for Thie to finish his incantations.
“Roj ixeal cd’aozro epo,” he
commanded loudly in the old tongue.
“Let four become one.”
“You can have your magic back,” she lied in
hopes that once he and Thie were together again, they would forget their
differences and reunite Thire-los. There would be hope if Os came back home. If
he did not, there was none.
Happy tunes from the village delighted Syberias that
morning as she sat in the kitchen, preparing to have her morning tea. Tyrion
was away in the fields, so using this time, she replenished yesterday’s worn
energies. Like many other Mejuarian females, the elation of the eagerness of a
new mother embraced her heart.
She contemplated the birth of their mewling.
So, Syberias decided to read the ambrosia leaves in her morning tea as she sat
quietly, meditating on her mewling nest. Syberias’ mother taught her the
enchantment, telling her that Thire-los taught the blessing to the Mejuarians
many long cycles ago. Few Mejuarian still practiced this mystical art or any
enchantments these days. Yet, adept in her skills, secretly reading the leaves
for others helped her purchase silken fabrics and pretty jewels. She sewed her
own clothing and crafted precious ornaments to embellish herself in dress and
body like the other Mejuarian socialites.
Vivid images stirred around, disturbing her. Images of
her nest, the Mejuarian Fleet, and fiery red balls dropping from the sky, all
these frightened her. She decided to reread the leaves. Pouring out her cup of
tea, making another, she prayed that what she saw early was a misreading on her
part. Her hands quivered fretfully when she placed the container on the table;
she once again began to enchant her tea.
“Ajao ex qd d’aoiipw
kiiwvj ex gvuj giirr zeqo
Lohour qd xujo je qo
Ke II speg qakj d’ao yepo
Future of my being,
Sight of what will come
Reveal my fate
So, I know what must be done.”
Golden honey-orange leaves stirred slowly within the cup;
anxiety grew within her. Syberias held her breath, watching the darkened images
start appearing. At first, only dark shadows and now, colorful pictures arose
from the cup, spinning before her face. Her nest, Nymeria’s nest, Captain
Jonas, floated around her until a mass of fire enveloping them all dragged them
back into the cup. She cried out when the explosion consumed the images of the
Mejuarian, and objects close to her. She picked up the teacup and shook
fretfully, causing the hot liquid to spill, burning her hand slightly. The cup
fell to the floor, and the frail porcelain broke into shards, spilling tea over
her newly cleaned floor.
GUEST POST
Writing is what I
genuinely love, and I am so thankful to God that he has allowed me to pour out
stories that I believe he moves me to write. My husband and little puppy Xena
are my muses, and I am so glad those around me make me smile.
Stories of hope and
happiness, with a little bit of hardship thrown in, are my favorite works. I
write stories that are fantasy in nature, though a bit of pain must always come
into the hero’s life. My works are written in this form because I believe that
also, as in life, there is joy at the end of all the pain. I bring this belief
to my writing because it is the philosophy of my own life since I have a strong
faith in God’s grace.
I am always trying to try
to create unique stories and design my characters from my own creativity. Since
so much has been written by others, it is sometimes hard to develop stories not
copied so many times over. When I am writing a nemesis, I always try to make him/her
or it, uncommon from the many other characters or events in great books already
published. That is, I hope to write a bit “out of the box; so it might take me
weeks to find the perfect antagonist, protagonist, or inciting incident. Too,
ideas come to my mind sometimes when I am reading the bible, or just reading,
working, in the middle of doing my housework, and even at times, I wake up from
a hard sleep with the answer to a delimina I am having with a character.
Subject or book idea.
Most of my stories are
high fantasy, with a bit of urban fantasy included. I try to write stories
filled with imagination, wonder, and beauty since writing about real life is
boring, in my opinion. Splendid sceneries, magical powers, spiritual
influences, and senses we lack in, I emphasize in my books. The creation of
unique and mystical creatures is one of my fortes, and in my latest series, I
have birthed wondrous beings, unknown in much to today’s fantasy genre.
The Mejuarian Series
Colorful creatures,
created by their god deity's breath, and a single drop of an earthling mammal
or animal, Mejuarian came to life. These beings have the hues of the rainbow,
each one a union of two colors; they are part Erctis god and part Muddied
bloodlines, their appearances were no longer pure, and the once perfectly
designed creatures were no longer what they once were. Some could be all
Ercutian, human, in appearance, with canine ears and graceful tails, or some
others now have partial godly faces, lovely feline type eyes, and muzzles. On
the other hand, others might have small beak noses, bird legs, and no tails,
and large burly bodies of black bears with sparse fur and tiny tails.
Personally, all of the Mejuarian are not beautiful and might be odd-looking
creatures, but they all have confidence in their peculiar appearances.
This series was created by
a thought that writing something playful and fanciful for middle grades and
even those older who need to know that we sometimes have to look beyond
ourselves for answers. We are similar to Mejuarian in many ways. They are
actually demigods (I am not saying that we are demigods) with great power who
don’t realize that they have powers beyond physical and science. The concept
that Mejuarian are similar to all of the world I have put in the series. We are
different, and like the Mejuarian, I believe we should be prideful of our
appearance, like the haughty beings, regardless.
These strange beings
encounter many adventures, new places, and gain new friends throughout the
series. Life is not static, and these lazy, contented group of beings need to
learn that. In the Mejuarian series, the beings will grow out of their cozy
wellbeing comfortable lives by hardship, of course. And like I believe, they
will emerge, stronger, happier beings after all unfortunate
circumstances.
