Stealing Iris (Blood Ties, Book 1)Stealing Iris by Sahara Roberts
Description:
One look at Conrado and I knew that idiot was trouble.
It’s my business to know a bad deal when I see one and with one glance at that guy, I was ready to walk
Then I saw her. Iris, an innocent, enchanting beauty.
The moment our eyes met, I wanted her.
Common sense escaped me as I agreed to work with Conrado simply to be near her.
But something’s wrong. What it is, Iris won’t say.
Instincts on alert, I’m all in.
If they thought they could play me, they’re not prepared for the consequences.
And if I find out he hurt her... there’ll be hell to pay.
This is a Dark Mafia Billionaire Romance series containing mature themes, adult situations, and graphic violence. If you are not prepared to deal with this, please pass on the opportunity.
Our Thoughts 💭:
Ugggggghhhhh 💆‍♀️ and breathe
I'm so torn and a bit upset and a touch needy 🤯
Did I miss something?
I feel lost almost like I missed something important that would have tied things together a bit more 🤷‍♀️ - a clue? A hint? An entire prequel?
I connected with the characters so easily but felt disconnected from the story
Does that make sense?
I devoured this in one sitting - paused to order pizza 'cause I had to know and I wasn't about to walk away until I did
I still don't by the way 🤦‍♀️know that is
Why did Dante give Conrado the time of day?
What's up with Mr. I see the future?
I think I have a crush on Tino!
Where's Pop's?
I did finally understand why Iris let all that happen - fear is quite the motivator
Izz makes me feel slimy but now I'm curious who his family is
Did I miss a book before this one?
Someone, please assist Olga to a dark room... and leave her there
This (IMO) is one puzzle piece after another slowly slotting together, it has some dark moments but overall it is a whole lot of suspense and breadcrumb trails that lead up to moments of clarity for Dante ( and the reader which just adds to the whole suspense thing)and ends on a to be continued
I am dying to get the whole picture here!

Nicklas: The Vendetta Brotherhood Book OneNicklas: The Vendetta Brotherhood Book One by C.R. Robertson
Description:
I wouldn’t die for her... Where was the romance in that?
I would kill for her... Then claim her as mine.
Sofia was the fruit from the forbidden tree, Nicklas was the devil with the face of an angel, some desires can’t be denied...
War erupted between different fractions of leading mafia families and Sofia Black was collateral damage when she was attacked at university. She ran for her life with nothing but an address that her father left for her in case of emergencies.
Nicklas was leader of the Vendetta Brotherhood, a vicious criminal who refused to care for anyone but his gang of misfits. When an innocent Sofia arrived on his doorstep, she was too tempting a gift to refuse.
Can the King of Death make Sofia his Queen?
Our Thoughts 💭:
Romance - Betrayal - Vengeance
What a way to start a series!
Nicklas was saved from death as a child.
Brought into the underworld of crime.
Trained. Educated. Prepared to execute a vengeance he swore against the man who slaughtered his family.
Against the weak who hid behind the coattails of a corrupted council.
A decade later he had built his own empire.
Respected. Feared. Death in a meat suit.
Until an angel landed in his care.
Nicklas is one of those balanced darker heroes -
What do I mean? He can do what is necessary to keep order. He embraces his darker side. He shields that which owns his heart.
and Sofia -
She owns his heart and soul
I enjoyed Sofia's character so much. She is an innocent but when she needs to kick hiney and take names? She is a vicious little thing.
If you enjoy Mafia Romance with strong heroines, lots of action, and characters that will steal your heart - This is it

Pretty Nightmare (Creeping Beautiful, #2)Pretty Nightmare by J.A. Huss
Description:
There is something truly wrong at Boucher House on the Old Pearl River.
Some hidden evil lurking deep inside the woods.
Nothing about their blissful life is what it seems.
Because just when they think they have it all—he shows up to take it back.
Our Thoughts 💭:
"Because that's what happens when you get to the end of something. It doesn't matter if it's a road or a story, or a goal -
when you get to the end of it you start over. "

Holy crispy crackers 😳
I thought the first book was a total mind trick-
The truth?
It gets more convoluted
The secrets?
Darker
The revelations?
They make your worst nightmare look like a walk down sesame street
I'm so not giving any spoilers
I was at about 30%? When something clicked.
Indie said something and I'm not kidding I actually went back to book one.
I needed to re-read it -
To really pay attention to what wasn't obvious -
To the words that weren't being said
I wanted the pieces to fit
Even though I read both back to back
(book hangover is such an understatement here)
It wasn't until that final moment
It all clicked
HOW DID I MISS THAT??
I truly hope we get more of this universe
More secrets
More...
Just more
There is so much still buried
So many secrets that have yet to be revealed
If you enjoy your mysteries a touch twisted and loaded with suspense -
The kind that speeds up your pulse -
Causes your body to tense -
The kind that bleeds its secrets yet never quite reveals its truths
Then this is for you

Ruthless Princess (Mafia Royals, #1)Ruthless Princess by Rachel Van Dyken
Description:
A mafia romance about best friends turned enemies by Rachel Van Dyken, the number one New York Times bestselling author of the Eagle Elite series.
The enemy of my enemy is my friend…
I never thought my father would ask this of me, to become the second generation at Eagle Elite University, to rule with an iron fist, and to take care of anyone who gets in our way.
But ever since the incident.
Ever since Him.
There’s been a war in our little clique.
After all, a house divided cannot stand.
Our Thoughts 💭:
"Love, if anything, isn't a blessing, it's a curse."
I need a moment to pick up all the broken pieces of my soul 😥
This was beyond a boy meets girl ...
Boy hurts girl...
This was more of a journey(?) of self-discovery.
Not sure that is even the right wording to describe how I felt reading this, the emotions I experienced.
The whole crew -
Each of them was such an intricate piece of the story -
So much happens -
As always I don't want to risk spoilers
The story centers around Junior and Serena and the forbidden feelings that develop between them -
The choices that they have to make - duty before self -
and how those choices shaped their lives -
Good and bad
Each character here is so important to the overall storyline
Each secret
Each betrayal
"My hate is all I have. Please don't take that too. "
Know going in you will laugh something fierce
You will know heartbreak intimately
You will see sacrifices made in the name of blood
Experience first hand the gut-wrenching pain of betrayal
And the dark void that comes from loss
Most of all you will feel ...

Crowned by Fate (Crowned #2)Crowned by Fate by Amo Jones
Description:
He asked me to love him, so I engraved his name onto my heart.
He craved my loyalty, so I let him feast on my soul.
I wanted a husband, but he gave me a monster.
So, I made it my pet.
The lines between what was real and what wasn’t were blurred.
Our story was a lie.
Until now.
Our Thoughts 💭:
😱 Did not see that coming
One of my favorite characteristics with Jones' writing is how she untwists the insanity -
If you read the first in this duet then I'm sure like me you came out the other side having absolutely no idea what in the blazes was going on
And yet
You were salivating for more!
As Fate begins things are just as topsy turvy as when Hate ended
Then slowly - like an onion as each layer that was peeled back -
I began to see 👀
It was painful
It was a touch blinding at times
I had to step back , compose myself , fight my inner child who wanted to scrap the whole emotional journey thing and just read the final chapters
But I held her in check ✔
And WOW!
There were so many layers
so many devious twists and delightful little surprises
I want more from this cast
I need a bit of time to process everything
To gather my wits and embrace the insanity
Until then?
Don't pass up this duet

How to Rope a Rich Cowboy (Silver Springs Ranch Book 2)How to Rope a Rich Cowboy by Anya Summers
Description:
Colt Anderson is burned out. Every part of his daily life has become a tedious chore. He cannot remember the last time he took a day off or, better yet, felt a woman’s willing surrender. And it’s just his luck that on his first day off in ages, he runs into a sexy squatter on his property, never expecting that single interaction would alter the very fabric of his world.
Still, he cannot seem to stay away from the sultry scientist, Avery. Colt feels bad for her, worries that she is running from something, and decides to cover her stay at the ranch. After all, he owns the place and has plenty of cash. Although that tiny little detail is a secret he plans on keeping to himself. It is addictive having a woman look in his direction and not see dollar signs for a change.
Because when Avery casts those goddess eyes his way, he’s just a man, a man she craves and submits to body and soul, like he’s her man, and his longing for her has him tied up in knots. With trouble and danger drawn to her like magnets, Avery pulls out his protective, dominant nature. The woman needs a keeper, and he’s the perfect man for the job.
Now he has less than two weeks to convince her to stay, to make her fall for him before she discovers he’s rich. But will she hate him when she discovers his deception
Our Thoughts 💭:
Colt is in a bit of a repeat slump, each day feeling a bit like rinse and repeat to him. He decides to take a ride up the mountain, a little reset time. Only instead of just a reset, he finds an Avery.
The physical attraction between these two is quite literally instant but Avery is the kind of girl who lives for the now and she saw something she wanted and well she had to have a taste.
Speechless and intrigued Colt decides to enjoy the reprieve from his norm and just enjoy the chemistry between him and Avery.
As time progresses and moments become memories Colt finds he must overcome his own prejudices or he might lose his precious Avery.
This was a fast-paced easy to read romance. Colt is a Dom, not your typical mind you but in this scenario he was perfect. Avery is a bit of a klutz, which created some pretty cute scenes. Her character is honest with herself which I like in my heroines' none of that wishy-washy back and forth I don't know conflict. Yes, there are some scenes that had me rolling my eyes and some others that were a bit out of the realm of possibility - but again this is me - for the most part, it was an entertaining romance that has a spectacular HEA and left me with the feels.
I guess this is part of a series - yes like I always I jumped in late to the party but it easily reads as a standalone and left me curious about the other members of the ranch.
