I listened to the audio version of Halfmoon Ridge and I have to say at first I was a bit unsure -
It was not only a new author but a new narrator as well
Glad I took the chance
This is a bit friends to lovers, dad is going to be so mad but mom's got my back cowboy romance
Ellie has had a crush on Brent for as far back as she can remember but he works for the family which makes him off-limits.
We all know rules are made to be broken
I enjoyed the overall story, the close-knit family, the little 'oops' moments, and Ellie - She was such a great female lead
I had some minor "Oh No You Did Not" moments with regards to the male's responses during certain scenes -
Things worked themselves out and truly I think that was the authors intent because Ellie was just as fit to be tied as I was
Brent was fun when he let his walls down and I enjoyed the way he and Ellie interacted.
A sweet semi-clean romance that had just the right touch of angst to keep me guessing but not overpower the relationship between the two main characters
