No Romance in The Shepherd and the Horned Girl
Ivas is aromantic and asexual. He touches on this briefly in the novel, noting that he never really had the desire to pursue a relationship. I wanted to represent this part of the spectrum, because we rarely see it in media and yet it’s a very valid and real identity. Romance isn’t necessary to carry a story, nor to having a relationship with the opposite sex. I greatly enjoyed the friendship between Ivas and Tess because it could remain friendship without expectations for anything more.
Breanna Bright is the author of many paranormal books, as well as short stories in various genres. She grew up in the backwoods of Missouri where she was inspired to write at a young age.
