Fate makes no exceptions. When stepping into a town full of werewolves like me for the first time in my life, I expected to be welcomed - or at least tolerated. Instead, I got hit in the face with a door. And then, found my dad's face on a dartboard in their diner. The people there need my help, but I can't help them unless I tell them who I am. And telling them who I am just might get me killed. The one connection I find comes in the form of a gorgeous, inked-up chemist who's the only person in town that doesn't hate me. He could be exactly what I need in more ways that one - and I'm pretty sure he's my fated mate. Every day I'm there seems to increase my odds of dying as the townies try to force me out, but I refuse to back down. I'll save them...even if they kill me for doing it. Note: This new-adult paranormal romance is recommended for ages 17+ due to language and sexual content.
Hi, I’m Lola! I’m a book lover with a *slight* werewolf obsession and a massive book addiction. I read a ton, write a ton, and have an unhealthy relationship with both Red Bull and chocolate. My books are always about new-adult characters, and I love putting twists on common romance tropes!
Avie is an audiobook narrator living in her off-grid tiny house in rural Eastern Canada, surrounded by forest and chicken friends, and honeybees. She loves books so much she's listening to one almost every minute she's not narrating one (she also narrates as Aven Shore). She narrates live on Discord with other romance narrators on the Haven server. She is longing to travel and hike in mountains again, and dreaming of sleep in the lava fields of Iceland under Northern lights again, her favorite place in the world. Her past lives include being a carpenter, firefighter, tax accountant, and competitive snowboarder.
At Audiobook Empire, audio reigns supreme, narrators are hailed as heroes, and headphones are worn with pride.

I am so torn but I will be listening to the next
I want to say first that I am going to continue with the series despite all the reservations I had with book one- primarily because of the little surprise twist - now I am curious
Kass finds her dad's journals and decides to continue his work
She finds that she is not so welcome and the journals may be omitting some important facts
LIke why the town doesn't like outsiders? I mean really doesn't do outsiders
But she is nothing if not persistent
Turns out the town mayor may have some answers for her and is a bit more friendly, for lack of a better term
Kass keeps digging for the truth despite multiple warnings
Soon she finds herself in more trouble than she expected
The ending for me was a bit to sprinkle on some happiness and everyone is okay with what happened
Why if she is a wolf is she not more educated about herself?
I can say with all certainty that if you harmed, tried to kill, or killed, me or mine I would so not just smile and say "water under the bridge I am sure you had your reasons"
Kass is a survivalist but I am confused why she did not rely on her wolf more besides keeping her warm
I have all kinds of questions about the virus and the people and just ... yeah lots of questions
The narrator did a great job of bringing the characters alive and the scenes - not big on her voice for some of them but that is more a me thing
