Characters that are vivid and authentic
and Great narration
Look no further
This was a new author for me one I have now placed on my must-reads list -I am a big fan of high fantasy
Ara was such a well-developed character
Her background was abusive and her thoughts and behaviors were a product of that abuse.
Over the length of the tale, we get to see her grow, become the lady she truly was meant to be, and watch her kick some backside
Along with some other unique surprises
Topper and Khendric were solid supporting characters that offered structure, unconditional support, and a bit of humor
They become a "family of choice"
All around solid read with unique monsters, plenty of action all in a well-crafted universe

Lee messed up in college - What should have been his forever became his greatest fumble
Now the fates have laid before him a second chance with a couple of
small hurdles he must get past first
One she is the new physical therapist for his team -
No fraternizing policy and all makes a relationship hard
Oh and the other minor issue -
She loathes him -
Can't say he blames her but if she would just give him a chance to plead his case
Lee is on a mission to make Shayna his
Shayna is bound and determined to keep the snake in the grass - where he belongs!
Not to mention they can not have a relationship even if she forgave them
Which she is not...
The stormy back and forth between Lee and Shayna was incendiary!
the little side looks, the on-purpose accidental meet-ups
Then when they both accept the inevitable?
Smoldering Smexy
Great cast of characters with lots of light-hearted laugh-out-loud moments as well as a few light angsty ones
I loved the comradery between the players. That feeling of the family I choose.
Will be putting this series on my must-read list

First time with this series/ author but I will be going back to book one - Inquiring minds and all

I felt like it should have been spread out into another book - I know it could just be that I wanted more time with certain characters but IDK ...
As with book one, this was a fast-paced, high-heat read with twists and turns that quite literally caught me unawares -
Cruising along thinking we were okay then
BAM!!
everything was shot to hades -
Speaking of Hades
This has some major OMG you have got to be kidding me reveals as well as some pretty tough-to-swallow losses/challenges
We get to meet some new characters as well as spend time with old favorites
Some of Talia's past is revealed which put a spin on what was up with her "powers"
I am dying to see where we go from here
I am a bit mad at the sisters and don't see myself forgiving them anytime soon - I understand why doesn't mean I agree

When Luke's friend and mentor is assassinated and Ana's life is threatened Luke charges in to save her along with a little help from the men of Walker Security (fanning myself)
He knows Ana can save herself but he is going to make sure and while he is protecting her and figuring out who is behind this he is also bound and determined to win (or take) back Ana's heart and he is not averse to dirty tricks to do it
Ana had my hackles up in the beginning - She had to know he would never have done that if there was not cause. It took her a couple of chapters to somewhat acknowledge the truth still ...
I did like her backbone and take no bulls attitude
She was a flawless mix of strong and sweet
From the opening scene to the closing this story moves at a fast pace - packed with action and suspense and some seriously hot romance
This is part of a trilogy
