In the beginning, I admit I was a bit irked with Santiago. He already had his mind made up and just steamrolled right over Briseis. He acknowledges she is a victim but, 🤷‍♀️ whatever, his needs come first. Yes, he does correct his ways (well to the best of his dark hearts' ability) before it is too late but I can still be mad!

"I chose my loyalties right"
Briseis - her life is one nightmare after another. I wanted to hold her and tell her someone cared, someone heard her cries.
Don't get her twisted though. She gives better than she gets!

"When you feel nothing, there is no weapon in the world powerful enough to destroy you"
Santiago wants revenge.
He found a pawn that guarantees his success
Briseis wanted her freedom
She found herself with clipped wings
Can two tortured souls find the strength to trust one another?

Santiago's Conquest just drops you right into the action. There is no slow introduction to the nightmare. The story is told in the present and past tense giving you a clear sense of why and also, for me, building a stronger connection not only to the scene but to the characters themselves. This is fast-paced so hold on because it reads just like a coaster. Laughing one minute, only to flip the page to find your heartbreaking. Some very dark twists along with some of the sweetest surprises. The chemistry between Santiago and Briseis is breathtaking. It is more than just a physical connection -like calls to like - pain to pain - hurt to hurt.
Both are survivors.
Both see past the facade to the true treasure hidden under the tarnished surface.

This is a serial killer romance as such there is lots and lots of crimson filled scenes, descriptive darker moments that created our monster and stuff -
so if that isn't your cuppa ...


  
About the Author: 
V.F.Mason always loved reading books and had quite a few fights with her momma over the genre she liked (romance, duh!) She studied filmmaking and thought that would feed her desire for stories, but that didn’t happen. Finally, when she was tired of all those voices in her head, she sat down and wrote a book. It was a huge decision to make and she thanks her friends and family for supporting her in it. When she is not writing, she can be found with her friends doing all sorts of crazy things or reading recent romance books that were written by her favorite authors.
