This is the third book in the series and IMO to get the full experience you need to read the series in order. Yes, it can easily be read as a standalone but you will find it more than just another paranormal romance if you have the full picture. The main storyline and the cast are magical.

Kiyo has always been the stoic one. The quiet one that gets what needs doing done - No pesky emotions - No need to weigh consequences as he is firm in the knowledge his choices are made using facts (I must say this is currently not working so well for him).

Kiyo carries his skeletons close to his chest. Trust no one and betrayal never becomes an issue.

So exactly how did this little slip of a woman outsmart him?

Not once but twice?

Niamh is so much more than meets the eye. I admit I have always been curious about her full back story. We meet her in the previous books and we have front row seats when her world was shattered. She is on a mission to right the wrongs while she avoids the truth of her pain. Her heart is heavy and she feels so alone with the burden she carries.

She wants to share the truth but who can she trust?

And shouldn't trust work both ways?

This was packed with action, angst, adventure, and a slow build romance that will warm even the coldest of hearts!

I loved that we got cameos from some of my favorite past characters and that the "fae sisters" are getting the upper hand ... sort of
