I don't even know, where to begin - soooo much xhit happens - I don't think anyone is who they presented themselves to beThis had quite a few more twists and holy cow moments than the previous book - I know I didn't think it was possible either
I read this practically in one sitting (had to feed my granddaughter and the dogs)- I was that entranced - no I didn't peek 😅 but it was a fight with my inner child I came close to losing
Once the closet of skeletons is cracked and the past is uncovered things move fast
One hit after another fast
I was shocked at some of the revelations and kept asking myself How I missed the clues?
Not to be missed if you like darker suspense and lots of twists

Got a touch perturbed
Gasped (Yeah seriously and out loud)
Fell in love with love all over again
These two are complete opposites yet they also shared so many traits - Quirky - Stubborn - Loveable
Zara was the type to analyze everything - I do mean everything- even if it was only a possibility, a random what-if scenario.
Her career choice, men's club and all, required that thought process for her to get to and stay on top -
Sadly the habit bled into her daily life becoming her own personal clock blocker 😏
Our dashing hero at times comes across as arrogant but he is so much more.
Tenacious, a bit of a closet romantic, dedicated
He thought he had everything he wanted in life until a very sexy outspoken attorney and a not so funny misunderstanding opens his eyes to what he was missing
These two were nuclear together
The back and forth - I was laughing so hard at times
When they finally capitulated- holy hotness!
Loved Belle and Nate - solid supporting cast

She had me laughing, crying, at times wanting to protect her
Nick is the perfect book boyfriend
Honest, smexy, doesn't give up when chit gets tough
The author did a great job of crafting the foundation for the series while still preserving the flow of the story providing a slow build romance vibrating with suspense that keeps the reader engaged
As for our couple, you could almost feel the chemistry between them it was so tangible
I am truly excited for the next in the series
Solid characters - The supporting is just as important to the overall tone as the main
Plenty of edge of your seat suspense peppered with steamy romance that fits the storyline not just gratuitous
The way the author set up the D/s relationships we see throughout the story was well thought out and flows with the story not separate of it- hard to explain - but this is one of those reads you will enjoy reading more than once

I should not have been shocked at the connection I felt to the characters, the way I devoured this in one sitting, or the darker emotions their plight brought out in me
This author is known for her witchcraft when it comes to her writing - Yet I was unprepared
This was so much more than just a taboo romance
Magnus was paying penance for his past sins - sins that were not IMO his to carry
Tinsley was nothing but a pawn in her mothers game to increase their fortune, cement their power
Both were battling demons that they had no chance of defeating
This story has elements that some might have trouble swallowing
A priest who chooses to taste of the flesh
A teacher who desires his student
Arranged marriage (so not telling )
Just to mention a few

Each scathing and unexpected event seems to trigger another - A bit like dominos - as things snowball around them they both find they are forced to face certain truths
Some they are prepared for others not so much
Friends soon show themselves to be the enemy and enemies become nothing but cannon fodder for team Constantine
And the hits just keep coming

I cried
I got really really mad
And I swooned -
I want my own " black hole sucking everything into his void" boss/sugar daddy/boyfriend 😍
